How can hypnosis and NLP coaching help us overcome fear?

Chances are you have heard something like there are only two emotions love and fear. This can be continued to all positive emotions come from love, all negative emotions from fear. From love flows happiness, contentment, peace, and joy. It is most accurate to say that we can’t feel both of these emotions at the same time since love and fear do not come together. So this easily explains why one of the most common reasons for hypnosis and NLP coaching is for fears and phobias. Fear is such a common negative emotion that many need to release or let go so they focus specifically on what they want or for what purpose they want to live their best and successful life.

 

Now to go a little deeper, this is what we tend to do in a hypnotist or NLP coach and client relationship. Fear is a natural thing. In many situations, it is ecological to be afraid or scared of something. Whether it is being physically hurt or putting your hand over an open flame it is obviously acceptable to have fears in your life. We are really only born with two fears, the fear of falling or the fear of loud noises. The other fears are developed mostly by the culture or agreements you made growing up. It is quite fascinating all of the things humans wonder about and become afraid of based off of something they have heard or someone else has seen or felt.

 

So how does a fear become a phobia? The emotion of fear becomes a phobia when the anticipation, or anxiety, as well as the mental and physical response, are so great that it can interfere with everyday life. Many people know that this may even be irrational but think they are powerless to control it. This is where hypnosis and NLP coaching really helps. Not only does hypnosis, NLP and especially Time Line Therapy®really help with letting go of the emotion of fear but it can easily lessen the anticipation of anxiety that leads into a phobia.

Time Line Therapy® is also effective and is used for fears and phobias. It is not the same thing as hypnosis but it is a therapeutic process that came from NLP and hypnosis where your memories are stored in a linear way. In this, you are regressed back to the root cause of the emotion of the fear by your unconscious mind. Your unconscious mind also creates positive learnings that you can preserve in the future because during this process you have tested the event, the now and the future to know that it has been released.

 

Really using any of these techniques for fears and phobias is effective because of the amount of new effective and rational choices you become aware of, positive learnings and new emotional and physical responses you gain. These techniques are used for the client’s long-lasting success because change has happened at an unconscious level. Why would you want to deal with the same type of situation consciously the same way over and over when you can change the part of your mind that you use the most to be successful. This sounds like a better choice doesn’t it?
